La Tranche-sur-Mer

Boasting a spacious beach of fine sand on extended length of 13km, La Tranche-sur-Mer is a quiet and relaxing resort.

Nestled in the Marais Poitevin, the pine forest which occupies 600hectares land in the municipality is involved in creating a softer atmosphere for bicycle or pedestrian walks along the dunes along the coast.

A jewel of the Atlantic coast, known as the Little California, La Tranche-sur-Mer is known for its spots conducive to water sports, including windsurfing, activity for which it was labeled. Whether at sea or on lakes, the possibilities for activities abound, and are open to you for initiations, courses, or boat trip from the pier facing the Ile de Ré.

Every Saturday a market settles in the city center, to delight tourists and residents on fresh local products.
